Innovate Trust are the winner of the ‘Digital Inclusion’ award at the WCVA – Third Sector Awards 2017 in association with Digital Communities Wales and Class Networks. The event took place on Thursday 8th February 2018 at St Davids Hotel, Cardiff Bay. This is a very proud moment for the organisation and the people who we support.
The organisation has been working on a research project through funding from Welsh Assembly government. The Intelligent Personal Assistant ‘IPA’ project at Innovate Trust was developed to enhance and widen the possibilities for individuals to harness the use of mainstream technologies.
The Intelligent Personal Assistant ‘IPA’ project uses AI (Artificial Technology) and smart speaker devices such as the Amazon ‘Echo, Spot, Echo Show, Dot’ and Google Home to control environmental devices around the house such as TV’s, Sockets, Switches, Lights and electrical devices through voice control. The devices are also being used in other ways to promote independence, such as as a tool for reminders, alerts and as a way of communicating with others.
