Volunteering at Innovate Trust
Volunteering is a fantastic way for anyone to make a difference.
We commit ourselves to finding the perfect opportunity for everyone, in a way that suits your needs.

Accessible volunteering opportunities
At Innovate Trust, we believe everyone has valuable skills and experiences to share.
We support people with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful volunteering opportunities. We match opportunities based on needs and interests of the individual.
Whether you are a person with a disability or other additional needs, a student, or someone who wants to give back to their community, we have a range of volunteer roles to suit your needs and schedule.
Our in-person roles are mainly in South Wales, but we offer online opportunities across the UK.

Skills and Wellbeing at Innovate Trust
Our Skills and Wellbeing team offers a variety of upskilling and volunteering opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and other additional needs online and in person.
The best part? You do not need to be supported by Innovate Trust’s Community Living Services to participate!
We offer a range of activities that focus on two main areas, skills development and wellbeing improvement.
Our aim is for adults with learning disabilities and other additional needs to live more independent and fulfilling lives through skills and volunteering.

About our Insight app's Volunteering hub
Our Volunteering Hub helps people with learning disabilities and other additional needs find rewarding volunteering experiences, locally and online.
We know that volunteering is a fantastic way to connect with the community, support others, and learn new skills. Our mission is to make it easy for everyone to get involved in volunteering, in a way that suits them.
On the Insight app’s Volunteering Hub, adults with learning disabilities get actively involved. Our focus is promoting personal growth and developing a strong sense of belonging.
The Volunteering Hub has many helpful Easy Read guides and videos on a range of volunteering topics to make it easier for people to achieve these goals.
Some of our members even share their own volunteering stories to inspire others.
These real-life experiences provide valuable insights into different types of volunteering and help members discover opportunities that match their needs.
Join our Insight app to access the Volunteering Hub
Our Volunteering Hub is exclusive to Insight for members to access volunteering opportunities that suit them.
Workplace volunteering
We welcome employee volunteer groups across our Skills and Wellbeing projects and have previously worked with groups of volunteers from Black Horse Finance, Starling Bank, Motonovo Finance, The Senedd, Admiral Insurance and Principality Building Society.
Our outdoor Skills and Wellbeing projects are well suited to providing tasks that foster teamwork.
We work with organisations to plan tailored sessions that best meet their needs.
How does it work?
Groups of employee volunteers work alongside our project participants with learning disabilities and gain valuable experience in practical outdoor work and person support, all while having fun!
Our organisation volunteering sessions are a great opportunity for our participants to work alongside new groups, develop social skills, and share knowledge and experiences.

If you are interested in setting up an employee volunteering activity for your team, we’d love to work with you.

Skills and Volunteering Cymru
Skills and Volunteering Cymru (SVC), our sister charity, is based in Cardiff. They provide fantastic volunteering support and opportunities across South Wales.
SVC’s dedicated volunteers run over 30 projects that help combat loneliness and isolation for many different groups in the community.
One of their key projects is Befriending, which connects volunteer befrienders with people who may be experiencing social isolation.
Befrienders offer friendly companionship, social interaction, and support through regular visits or contact.
They provide a listening ear, enjoy shared activities, and help build confidence and stronger community connections, making a real positive impact.
Volunteering with SVC is a fun and rewarding way to give back to your communities, with project often only requiring just 2-3 hours a week.
