Accessible Sailing

Our Accessible Sailing sessions are a yearly seasonal activity that has always been popular amongst our community. This year, our sessions have been running since May 4th at Cardiff Bay with thanks to our funding from Heart Research UK and our partners at Harbour Authority Cardiff. Open to people from Cardiff, the Vale, and Rhondda Cynon Taff, our current sessions are fully booked, running until the end of September.

About Accessible Sailing

Accessible Sailing benefits participants by lowering stress levels and provides a relaxing sensory environment. It also gives individuals the chance to take part in outdoor activities. Our sessions are focused on creating an accessible environment for those involved, which includes a hoist built into the pontoon enabling ease of access into the boats on the water. This year, we have had more individuals being hoisted than individuals who step in the boat.
