About Restore the Thaw

We are working alongside the Vale of Glamorgan Countryside Team and the Restore the Thaw Landscape Project to improve the biodiversity along the River Thaw in Rhondda Cynon Taf and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The River Thaw’s source is in Llanharry, it then flows through the Vale of Glamorgan, through Cowbridge and reaching the Bristol Channel near Aberthaw. Project activities will take place at Porthkerry Park, Aberthaw Nature Reserve, Rhoose Point, Hensol Woods and at the Amelia Trust farm.

Our activities are mainly free of charge and open to all.

We encourage anyone to try the project – no matter what your previous experience or support needs are!

Please contact our Skills and Wellbeing team for more information.
