Insight into Wales
Insight into Wales provides ways to support and develop further opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
By providing access to an online community, this project created a space where people with learning disabilities can socialise and make new friends across Wales.
This project’s funding has now come to an end, although its impact is ongoing.
About Insight into Wales
Our Insight into Wales project provided a doorway to a world of online activities.
Thanks to the project, we host over 80 online activities, available 7 days a week, from over 100 organisations!
Through the project, people with learning disabilities gained new digital skills, felt less isolated, and have access to a broader social network to improve their health and wellbeing.
Thanks to Insight into Wales, people with learning disabilities now:
- Discover new skills: learn a wide range of skills or try something new online!
- Connect with others: meet new people and build friendships in online communities.
- Feel less isolated: stay connected and combat loneliness, especially after the pandemic.
- Improve wellbeing: explore activities that can boost mood and overall health.
Insight into Wales empowers people to feel digitally included and part of something bigger.
It enables access to digital resources, information, online communities, new relationships, and to create connections.
Project feedback
I started using Innovate Trust's Insight app during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has helped me connect with people all over the UK and get involved in lots of different activities.
Because of this project, I am now working for Innovate Trust's Digital Inclusion and Innovations Department.
I provide awareness to people who can benefit from accessing an online social community.
