boosting nature at innovate trust

Boosting Nature

Boosting Nature is an environmental project run by Innovate Trust and funded by the WCVA’s Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme. We support adults with Learning Disabilities and mental health conditions to learn about environmental issues and improve biodiversity in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

About the project

All of our activities have an environmental aim, focusing on improving biodiversity and reducing waste. Our activities are mainly free of charge, and we encourage anyone to join – no matter what your previous experience or support needs are.

  • Practical conservation work sessions with the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan rangers to look after the local parks and nature reserves
  • Educational activities to learn about the environment, recycling and composting
  • Litter picking
  • Wildlife surveys
  • Working with community groups to make Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan greener
  •
  • You’ll be helping the environment
  • You’ll learn practical conservation skills like how to use tools correctly and how to plant trees
  • You’ll learn about nature, wildlife and the environment
  • You’ll improve your fitness
  • You’ll meet new people and make friends
  •
  • We can match you with a volunteer who’ll support you in getting other environmental volunteering opportunities around Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Your volunteer buddy can help you travel to the activity and provide support and encouragement during the session.

Please contact our Skills and Wellbeing team at 02920 382 151 or email us to join.
