October was a busy month. As well as doing our regular activities with most of our participants, we also worked closely with groups from Treforest day centre in Rhondda Cynon Taff and also with the Porthkerry Park Project
Treforest Day centre
We delivered a number of activities in Treforest which were aimed at developing skills and confidence. As well as a self-confidence activity, groups came on a litterpick in the local area . Despite poor weather everyone’s spirits remained high! This was followed up later by road safety training in the same area. The training consisted of learning activities inside in the dry, followed up by a chance for people to practice their skills in nearby roads. Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially being able to put the theory into practical use.
Porthkerry Park Project
A group of volunteers at this lovely park in the Vale of Glamorgan signed up to Take Charge so that they could gain some new skills which would help their work. Accredited British Safety Council training, Confidence and teamwork development and Heartstart First Aid certificates have enabled them to improve their volunteering skills.
