My cerebral palsy story

A guest blog by Nicole Bird.

When I was little, I had trouble walking, talking, and bouncing on a trampoline.

This is because I have cerebral palsy. It is a condition that makes it hard to move and do things.

I often fell over and had accidents. I once fell into a grate and hurt my head.

Another time, I fell down the stairs and twisted my ankle. It still hurts sometimes.

I also have trouble talking and used to stammer.

I went to a special program called the Starfish Project to help me with my speech.

I had a hard time riding a bike, so I took a class to learn how. My Mum had to hold the back of the bike to help me.

Even though I have had a lot of challenges, I have also done some amazing things.

I have been involved in so many cool projects over the years.

It has not been easy, but I have learned to overcome my difficulties.

I am proud of who I am and what I have achieved.

I am part of the amazing House Of Deviant, Wales’ first fully inclusive learning disabled drag troupe!

One of the things I love most about my life is that fact that I am a Drag Queen!
