Living in Interest Times

Living in Interest Times

‘May you live in interesting times’, as the old saying goes. We can take this as a threat about the uncertainties and dangers of change, or as a promise of new and exciting opportunities ahead. At Take Charge we have been taking the positive approach as we look for yet more ways that we can support people to access activities from their homes, particularly for participants who have little or no IT access.

The weekly telephone calls with each person continue and are proving to be a great way of getting to know people who are new to the project. They are also expanding to include other things. By us asking the questions over the telephone and inputting her replies online, one participant has contributed to the work of our National Museum by completing their Collecting Covid survey. Find out more at https://museum.wales/collecting-covid/ where you can also complete the survey yourself

Once catalogued and added to the Museum’s official collection, her experiences will be available for social historians to consult for generations to come. Micro-volunteering at its best! We will be encouraging more of our participants to take part in this sort of volunteering as the project develops.
