Working with our sister charity – Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC), Innovate Trust have started a new digital mentoring volunteering project. Student volunteers from the University of South Wales in Treforest will use their digital skills and expertise to help individuals we support in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area to get the most out of the technology that they have available to them in their own homes. The volunteers will be working on a one-to-one basis with individuals providing bespoke and personalised advice and guidance to individuals wanting to learn more about technology.
This exciting new project is kindly supported by Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council and the Hodge Foundation.
This project provides a person-centred supplement to the existing input and support provided to individuals by the Innovate Inclusive Technologies Team, our Support Workers and our team of Digital Champions, who are volunteers with learning disabilities who promote digital inclusion, represent Innovate Trust and provide peer support to their friends and acquaintances who are also supported by Innovate Trust.
