We have been working extensively on the research of mainstream technology, to assist people with additional needs. Our main objective being to promote independence and well-being for the people we support, although have realised there is far greater benefits to other groups.
Our Digital Inclusion team were invited to attend the Vale People First meeting, as guest speakers. Nick French, CEO, Ashley Bale, Digital Inclusion and Innovations Manger, and Mark, who is supported by Innovate Trust, presented to the group, sharing information about recent discoveries, case uses and partnerships formed with educational institutions to further explore the uses of technology.
The presentation outlined the potential of mainstream technology, that is already available on the consumer market as well as upcoming technology, that is expected to be released.
Innovate Trust have setup the first supported living smart house for adults in Cardiff, in partnership with First Choice Housing association. Alongside this Innovate Trust have a dedicated Smart house, that is used to test, demonstrate, and provide others with the opportunity to learn more about how the technology can support people.
