Photo ID for voting on election day

Everyone must show photo ID when they vote in person at elections.

Remember: you only need photo ID if you are voting in person at the polling station on election day.

In Wales you can use your Transport for Wales Disabled or Over 60 bus pass.

If you do not have the right photo ID you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate to take with you on election day.

You can check My Vote My Voice if you have the right sort of ID to vote.

You can also apply for a Voter Authentication Certificate.

In the polling station you can show your polling card or tell the polling staff your name and address.

They will check your ID.

The staff at the polling station will give you the ballot paper and explain how to fill it in.
