Confidence and calm: how Naomi has helped shape wellbeing at Innovate Trust

Naomi Pellett and individual supported by Innovate Trust stand close together indoors, smiling and laughing at the camera at a wellbeing support session.

For the past 6 years, Naomi has played a key role in shaping how we approach mental health and wellbeing at Innovate Trust.

As a Project Officer within our Participation team, Naomi has helped create meaningful opportunities for the people we support to explore mindfulness, build confidence, and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.

Her friendly, welcoming approach has made her sessions some of our most popular and well attended activities.

Creating space for calm and connection

Naomi’s work focuses on promoting positive mental health through inclusive, accessible activities.

Whether delivering sessions outdoors or in a relaxed studio environment, Naomi creates supportive spaces where people feel comfortable to participate at their own pace.

Through these activities, Naomi has helped many people discover practical tools to manage stress and feel more connected to themselves and to others.

Some of her most popular initiatives include:

  • Yoga and meditation sound baths – Gentle, sensory sessions designed to encourage relaxation and mindfulness, offering participants time to unwind and recharge.
  • Meadow Street Gardens in Pontypridd – Gardening sessions that combine light physical activity with the therapeutic benefits of spending time in nature, supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Introduction to mindfulness course

Building on her work, Naomi has developed a new introduction to mindfulness course for adults with learning disabilities.

The course aims to provide structured, practical guidance on emotional wellbeing and selfcare for individuals we support.

Topics will include:

  • Self care – everyday strategies to support both body and mind.
  • Emotional wellbeing – understanding feelings and learning healthy ways to manage them.
  • Mindfulness tools – techniques to stay present and reduce stress.
  • Compassion and boundaries – reflecting on how we treat ourselves and others.
  • Meditation – exploring meditation practices and their benefits.

The focus throughout is on empowerment, supporting people to build confidence, resilience, and greater independence in managing their own mental health.

Accessibility at the heart

In line with Innovate Trust’s commitment to inclusion, the course will be delivered remotely via the Insight app.

This ensures that individuals who are unable to travel can still access the sessions, connect with peers, and take part from home.

Naomi’s contribution over the last 6 years reflects her dedication to creating opportunities that genuinely improve wellbeing.

Through her work, many people have gained practical skills, meaningful connections, and greater confidence in supporting their own mental health.

Thank you, Naomi, for the positive impact you continue to make across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
