Nette Kambi, Support Worker

I really love the people I work with.

The role is so fulfilling. I love to feel that I have contributed to someone’s happiness in some way.

My managers are the best. If there is anything you do not understand, you can ask them. They are always approachable.

You really feel supported, I never feel alone.

There is lots of trust between colleagues, very inclusive. I cannot imagine working anywhere else now.

From the office right down to the service, you feel supported, and that you are always taken seriously.

I found [the induction] really good, but a bit overwhelming at first.

But in terms of content, what Innovate Trust teach is really, really good.

It prepares you well to go out there and do your job.

It is a fulfilling role. I have never been a Support Worker in my life.

It has its days when it is challenging, but it is a really good job and I would recommend.

My manager is really supportive and approachable. You can talk to her about anything.

[I work in a] really good house, with a really good team.

If you feel like you can make a difference and you are a caring person, looking for a new challenge, go for it.

There is something for everyone.

When you meet the individuals you are working with on a day to day basis, you will form an excellent relationship with them.

I have experienced some different types of training, with different organisations, Innovate Trust definitely seem to be one step ahead.

The training is very thorough.

I felt supported and gained a lot of confidence quickly.

I realised the difference I made to the people I support, and to the team as a whole.

Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, Support Worker

I’ve been with Innovate Trust for 8 years now. I have been in the UK for 23 years and Innovate Trust has been the best place to work.

I look forward to going in [to work]. It’s healthy, and it works both ways.

It is healthy for you, and it is healthy for the people you support.

You look forward to going to work, to help somebody, to do something positive and change someone’s life.

Knowing that I am helping someone, I feel fulfilled.

Helping people to achieve something. I just want in life for everyone to be where they want to be.

If I feel I have helped [the people I support] to do what they want, I am happy too.
