A rewarding time celebrating Adult Learners’ Week

a group of people celebrating at the adult learners week 2024 awards

At Innovate Trust we are committed to training, learning and development and supporting employees and individuals to gain new skills and knowledge, and to continue to flourish.

As part of this commitment, we have been celebrating Adult Learners Week 2024 by running a number of training courses and attending the Inspire Adult Learning awards where we were overjoyed to win the Workplace Change Maker’s Award for our training and partnership work with UNISON Cymru.

Continuing our commitment to training

During Adult Learners’ Week 2024 we have hosted a number of training courses to upskill, refresh and develop our employees.

This week we have hosted the following course to support this cause;

  • Complex Needs Training for Managers for 11 Learners
  • Medical Care and Treatment for 29 Learners
  • A, B, C Recording Form Training for 13 Learners
  • Infection, Prevention and Control for 11 Learners
  • Moving, Handling & Positioning (All Wales Passport) for 23 Learners
  • Learning Disability & Mental Health Awareness for 12 Learners
  • Health and Safety in Social Care for 12 Learners
  • Emergency First Aid at Work for 14 Learners
  • Safeguarding for 19 Learners

That’s a big total of 144 learners we have engaged with during Adult Learners’ Week!

Inspire Adult Learning Awards

In addition to running a number of learning opportunities, Donna Miller, Employee Development Manager, Kieran Vass, Health and Safety Development Manager and Rachel Hamling, Assessor and Training Support Advisor were invited along with colleagues from UNISON Cymru to attend the Inspire Adult Learning Awards at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff Sponsored by the Welsh Government.

Find out more about why we were nominated, and won the workplace change makers award by watching this short video:

Never stop learning

Learning is key for keeping our knowledge up to date and a core part of providing great care and support, but it also has a wealth of personal benefits too.

Learning can help us feel more confident, have the skills to tackle problems in our lives away from work, and provide an avenue for creativity and to improve our overall health and wellbeing.

Employees can get involved in adult learning by visiting the events page on the Innovate Trust Digital Platform to book onto an upcoming refresher course for additional training and learning opportunities.

Not an employee? Check out our careers page and start your journey of lifelong learning today!

Congratulations and well done to our dedicated teams!
